Psychology Today with IMANI

I'm Modeling A New Image  (IMANI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which assists in mentoring, inspiring and providing an overall enhancement to the quality of life for youth within the community.  This wonderful organization is headed by Mr. Michael Gaines and his daughter, Esquita Gaines Shack.

For over 30 years, Michael Gaines has been an advocate for children and families in need of mental health services. His sound clinical practice has been recognized by the Office Of Juvenile Justice, the Department Of Children and Family Services, and Family Roads. Mr. Gaines is a Positive Parent Educator. He is certified in levels 2, 4 and 5 of the program, Triple P Positive Parenting.

Surrounded by the daily interactions of the mental health field, Esquita Gaines Shack started mentoring at a young age. By the time she left for Arkansas and returned for her first Summer Break, Ms. Shack began mentoring children with developmental disabilities. However, it wasn't until nearly 8 years later that Ms. Shack decided to pursue a career in Psychology. Today Esquita Shack works to keep children at risk of out home placement, inside their residence. She provides school interventions throughout the Greater East Baton Rouge Parish and she is certified in levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Triple P Positive Parenting.
