"The Imam over a Masjid, he comes, he gives a khutbah, but most of the Imams that I know in this community, they don't understand that for the mosque, is a knowledge context. For his duties as Imam, there is a knowledge context. Unless we see and understand that (knowledge context), we are in the dark. Knowledge of our own situation, and what is required of us in that situation is the light for us in that situation. And when we don't have that knowledge, we are in the dark.

God says that He has made For everything a knowledge context to hold it, to give it boundary, to give it identity. When you come out of that knowledge context, you come out of your boundary. You come out of your identity. The Muslim is Muslim because of Muslim knowledge. He can call himself a Muslim, but live in a knowledge context that is not Muslim, and he will be calling himself a Muslim, but will not be a Muslim."
IMAM W. DEEN MUHAMMAD: "THE MUSLIM CONTEXT"
