Transfiguration, Vision of a Future Millenium or 70AD?

Is the millennium of a literal 1000 years taught in Matthew 17:1-13, in the vision recorded of the Transfiguration. Some have claimed this refers to the Millennium of a literal 1000 years reign of Christ on earth. Can this view be supported from the Scriptures? In a series of presentations last week on the DebateTalk4u platform, this view was advanced. It was cited as a reason to oppose the Preterist view of fulfilled prophecy. Today we look specifically at the Transfiguration in Matthew 17.
