Locusts of the Apocalypse

Revelatoin 9:1-11 describes the locusts of the Apocalypse who launch an attack on a class of men. In an attempt to respond to the imminence statements in the beginning, (Rev. 1:1-3) middle (Rev. 12:12) and end of the book of Revelation (Rev. 22:6, 10, 12), we were told by the futurists that Revelation could not be fulfilled in the first century because their were no military aircraft such as those in chapter 9 in the first century.

This is the argument advanced by the Dispensationalists  and others in the past. Our study today will focus on whether or not the book of Revelation uses the Locusts as a symbol for military aircraft for a yet future destruction in fulfillment of end times prophecy.
