Juanita Taylor had her humble beginning in the small East Texas town of Palestine, TX. Being the second youngest of six siblings (two sisters who have predeceased her and three brothers that reside in Houston, TX), she recognized at an early age that higher education was an invaluable asset; thus, she accepted the offer to enter college at Tyler Junior College where she received her Associates Degree in Secretarial Practices. The degree from TJC along with one year of study at the University of Houston (Houston, TX) was adequate to sustain her professionally as an Executive Secretary, Human Resources Manager, Web Design Quality Control Manager, and Office Manager until eventually ending a 37-year career in varied companies such as Exxon Company, USA and Transco Towers (Houston, TX); DePaul Bon Secours Medical Center (Norfolk, VA); Studio North (North Chicago, IL); TechSolutions, Inc. (Albuquerque, NM); and the University of West Florida (Pensacola, FL). Additionally, Juanita has fulfilled her role as military spouse and Ombudsman. Following the death of her husband, it took about eight months to bring closure to many life-changing decisions. Juanita heeded the advice from her son whose wise counsel was to pursue the dreams that she had put on hold over the years by supporting him and his dad in working toward their life goals. By the grace of God Juanita was able to complete the education that she began decades before by graduating with honors from Southern Illinois University Carbondale Campus NAS Pensacola in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development and Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science degree in Pastoral Counseling (emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy) from Amridge University in June 2013.
