Each of us is born with a unique life purpose, our special in-studio guest Dr. Claire Nelson has been a leading change maker in her life's work with the International Development Bank and as the founder of Insititute for Caribbean Studies.

The first Jamaican woman to earn a Doctorate degree in an engineering discipline, Dr. Nelson holds Industrial Engineering Degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Purdue University, and a Doctorate in Engineering Management from George Washington University. She has served on numerous boards and committees.

Recognized as a White House Champion of Change, she is sought after as a speaker on issues pertaining to economic development, globalization, and issues concerning the Caribbean and its peoples. Dr. Nelson has been a frontrunner in the challenge of placing the topic of social exclusion and diversity on the agenda of the multilateral development assistance institutions.

Dr. Nelson is Ideation Leader of The Futures Forum and Sagient Futures LLC,  which provides strategic foresight and as a renaissance woman, she is a Development Engineer,  and a Social Entrepreneur.  Identifying, acknowledging, and honoring this purpose is perhaps the most important action successful people take. Dr. Nelon will share with us understanding what we are here to do – and then pursue that with passion and enthusiasm.
