Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project

My name is Jerry Brown I am a fortune 500 retail drug store manager. I am the 6th son of combined 11 kids between my parents.

I am an Army veteran, college graduate, and a Katrina Survivor.

I first heard about The Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project in 2007. It was the most enlightening documentary I have ever seen. It reaffirmed a lot of thoughts and gave a more solid base of knowledge in which I use to explain to people the problems of our society.

In 2009 after noticing we had no Chapter in AL. I felt compelled to become the coordinator and in 1 year we have had over 7000 hits to the site and 140 members register to receive the newsletters.

The Zeitgeist Movement is the activist arm of The Venus Project. The Venus Project is the blueprint to our future by design. We use this movement to create awareness of the social and environmental problems our species face.

We aim to inform the public about the waste fullness of our current anti-economic "monetary" system. The basis of the problem is that today over 30,000 children die daily from starvation and curable diseases, over 1billion people on Earth do not have access to clean water, and our economic system requires endless growth and ignores we have limited resources. Therefore we are at odds with our environment and in time will destroy the things on Earth our species needs to survive.

We sit at a rare point in history, no different than when the argument about the Earth being flat or round, or the transition from bartering to using some form of money to facilitate trade. We have the ability with our current understanding of science and technology to provide an abundance of goods and service for the world to enjoy. Most importantly to do this and preserve our environment.
