We are so saturated, disconnected, and continually reminded of and focused upon a social construct "race" and the practice of "racism" that we lose site of our "hue-manity" and the purpose and source of light we bring. As we continue the Building Capital From the Inside Out Series, pick up from last week's show highlighting deformations of racism and how race has been used to create a culture of fear. This internalized oppression takes us further away from our own internal guidance system-our very souls. Egos war with others who are different and we become the very thing we wanted to change - bigoted oppressors who want to get even. Understanding origin should never be used to oppress others as you have been oppressed. When we respond from the shadows we further segment our life and become further disconnected from our inner Self - our own guidance systems. Have we been bamboozled or is it time to lift your head and let your light shine - your true Hue-Man? GUEST: David Dalgleish was born and raised in Manchester, England; and currently lives in London, England. He has worked as a local government officer, policy development officer, and civil servant. Since 2002 he worked on a number of youth empowerment programs, which led to the development of a consultancy designed to make a positive contribution to the future, and provide solutions for problems of the past and present. He has facilitated programs with young people and adults from several countries, and has been interviewed for media productions, organized public events, participated in residential programs, presented at international conferences, and acted as an advisor to voluntary organizations and youth service providers. Much of his creative consultancy work has focused on tackling racism, media awareness, cultural capital, and social justice. David will shortly be publishing "WHERE DID RACISM COME FROM?" an educational guide to aid learning about the roots of race theories and racism.
