Former Nickelodeon producer/creator Butch Hartman is launching Oaxis Entertainment, a new online streaming service dedicated to non-stop family-focused programming. With the help of the community and Kickstarter, he plans to raise over $250,000 in 30 days to kick-off the project. Hartman will launch Oaxis in 2019.
Programming on Oaxis will include everything from animated series, drama, comedy, feature films, sports, fitness, reality, news, video games, and everything viewers expect from a premiere entertainment service.
Hartman, a father and prolific content creator, seeks to create a unique platform where kids and parents can be entertained without being inundated with exploitative or violent content. ‘Oaxis’ is a merging of the words Oasis and Axis, signaling a safe space in a content world that leaves families vulnerable to unintended and unwanted messages.
Hartman is known for spearheading some of Nickelodeon’s most successful animated series including Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Bunsen is a Beast and The Fairly OddParents which is currently Nickelodeon’s third longest-running animated series, behind SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.
