This week's featured guest on the Empowerment Hour is Michael M. Davis, President and owner of Costar Broadcast Group, based in Chicago. Davis announced this week that his group is now the owner of Mississippi's oldest radio station, WQBC-AM in Vicksburg, MS. Davis is a native of Lorman, MS, the site of Alcorn State University, the nation's first black land grant college. Michael M. Davis is listed as one of the top tier 2005 Graduates of the National Association of Broadcasters' Broadcast Leadership Training Program, an MBA-styled 10-month program designed to facilitate radio and television ownership opportunities for women and minorities. Costar Broadcast Group is a minority-owned multi-media communications company that is engaged in management consulting, outsourcing, sales and marketing new business partnerships across the broadcasting, telecommunications and entertainment sectors. The newly enhanced station is scheduled to go on-air in mid-April. We welcome Michael Davis to discuss this groundbreaking purchase and how Black radio can be used to empower the community.
