Your host, Earl Filskov, known to his friends as "Duke", is a retired suburban Chicagoland police officer. With over 20 years experience in law enforcement, Duke brings a fresh and "real person" view to today's issues in law enforcement. As a police officer he worked as a forensic investigator and supervisor and was assigned to the forensics unit of the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (WESTAF) which investigated major crimes and homicides in 19 different communities. Duke was assigned to his departments tactical unit and specialized in gang and narcotic investigations. He served as the departments resident instructor on gang and narcotic issues for local schools, businesses, community groups and taught these subjects in the Citizen Police Academy. Duke also was involved in the officers union and served as a board member for many years and was involved in numerous contract negotiations as well as advocating for his fellow officers.
