Things you must know before sending your kids off to college

Do you have kids, excuse me, young adults going off to college this fall?  There are many things you would have never considered to think about as they just never entered your mind.  I will be sharing the pitfalls and stumbling blocks I encountered in dealing with colleges and kids in school.  You know those papers the college has the student sign about letting you, the parent know anything?  I would suggest you think again and have a discussion with your young adult before signing them. 

Drugs, booze, sex issues, confidentiality, mental stress and non responsive young adults are potentially dangerous when left out on their own.  While we may thing we gave them all the tools, think again.  School is a thousand times different than when you as the parent went, so please do not put your experiences out there for the young adult to emulate.  Alcohol is no longer just beer, it is anti depressants and EverClear.  Really!!
