Community Empowerment with Vanessa Woodard-Byers

By profession, Vanessa is a veteran Miami-Dade County Public Schools administrator with broad-based knowledge of and experience with district and school operations. For many years, Vanessa was instrumental in producing Miami-Dade County's largest Kiwanza Celebration at Miami's Joseph Caleb Auditorium. In her spare time, Vanessa has developed an internet presence as a nationally recognized blogger. She is the author and chief blogger of "Blogging Black Miami." She is most proud of her participation in the AfroSpear, an internet group of black bloggers who share news and information on national and international topics and spearheaded several civil rights campaigns online that garnered national attention.
