Joel termed Judah to repent in face of God judgment using external attacker. He selected God's future day of redemption in which He would give His people His Spirit.

Is the Holly Spirit currently working in your life and the people you spend most of your time with? Are you satisfied with where you are spiritually? Joel is calling us to repent so we could receive the Spirit of God and experience the full scope of God’s love, grace and mercy. Repentance required that we acknowledge our guilt and culpabilities to God; It leads us to God sovereignty, be more “Christo-Centric, Theo-centric and less self-center.
