Susan Gregersen, mother, wife, author, blogger, and Montana mountain homesteader has l earned to do what she can do in a low-budget preparedness lifestyle. Susan says that no matter how tight the income or budget may be, there’s always a way to prepare and stock up, though it may not include freeze-dried foods, bulk grains, or even a grain grinder!

Susan and her husband, (empty-nesters after raising 9 children), are excellent examples of ex-urban homesteading––living off-grid on a mountain top in Northwestern Montana, just south of the Canadian border. Susan’s list of non-fiction books includes:

  • Poverty Prepping: How to stock up for tomorrow when you can't eat today
  • Preserving Meat, Dairy, and Eggs
  • Food Self-Sufficiency: Reality Check

Susan has written several preparedness fiction books, but she feels prepper fiction is a great way for people to learn from theoretical situations, but recognizes most  preppers focus mainly on the non-fiction, how-to books. Some of her Prepper Fiction titles are:

  • A Tale of Two Preppers
  • The Long Ride Home
  • The Rally Point
  • A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Takeover
  • A Funny Thing Happened When We Took Back America
  • & more...

Susan is also author of other genre fiction titles and some children’s' books:

  • Gracee and the Butterfly Ball
  • When Isaac Smiles
  • Brandon and the Magic Bug
