I DON'T WANT TO BE THE ONLY ONE.....

Since the dawn of man, there has been a continuing debate as to what has the greater precedence; the protection of ones own individuality or the survival & well being of the group dynamic.

The force of societal norms on conformity is one of the most powerful known to man, and it begins to manifest itself in the very early stages of human development. Today, many of the societal norms are transmitted through the internet, music, movies and tv show programs that permeate the airwaves.

Take a look at the manner of dress and communication used by many of todays youth, and you can easily see the impact that group think has upon individual behaviors. There is little deviation in the dress code & slang and those who attempt to COLOR OUTSIDE OF THE LINE, are quickly ostricized.

Sexual and criminal behavior are shaped in the same way and in order to fit in, one must be willing to adopt and actively participate to gain entry and to become a part of the "in crowd".

Nobody wants to be the odd man or lonely one left out, so is your self esteem and that of your children STRONG ENOUGH not to bend to the force of a dysfunctional and fickle crowd?
