In 2010, the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center worked with 16,963 clients. Many of these companies were second-stage companies. SBTDC second stage companies employ over 10 employees and have a specific intent and capacity to grow.
According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), one of the definitions of a small business is one withfewer than 500 employees. Our sweet spot is companies with 10 to 99 employeesrepresenting traditional and Emerging Sector businesses. SERVICES We provide three distinct services. Business counseling/coaching, business education, and referral services (including research).
