Join us as we continue our literary journey with the one and only Nella Larsen. A novelist and a participant in the harlem renaissance, she had a true literary voice. Ms Larsen was the first african american woman to recieve a guggemhiem fellowship award for creative writing in 1930. A Chicago native and born with a danish background she encountered so much in her life and also in her literary career. Her most famous works include "QuickSand" and "Passing." She also was a strong contributor to the magazine titled "The brownies book." In time her writings became well known to many not only throughout the harlem renaissance, but throught the country.
