REASONING With Renown Keyboard Player, JAWGE HUGHES, on FRIDAY, JULY 28th, 2013 @ 6:00 PM Eastern Time:

One of the top musicians in Los Angeles, California and the world of reggae in general, the renown, Jawge Hughes, specializes in playing the Keyboards. I met Jawge back in the early 1990‘s when I moved to LA and was introduced to him by the late JOE HIGGS, as his right hand man. Now, Joe Higgs, who is now widely acknowledge as the man who taught the Wailers the craft of music in the early years (listen as Bunny Wailer admits and elaborates on this in the documentary film, “MARLEY”) always referred to the humble, Jawge Hughes, as the creme de la creme of Keyboard players in the state. Jawge and Joe worked closely, and even toured together until Joe’s passing.  Interestingly, and for the record, Jawge Hughes’ son, GEORGE HUGHES JR., who plays Keyboards for the band, DETOUR POSSE, is of course, a highly respected musician as well.

I myself have had the great privilege of working with Jawge Hughes as well. In fact, he actually played on, and somewhat directed the 1995 album entitled, “WILD & WET,” on which I had collaborated with a sista named DEBRA GIBBS. But, the story went even further, when in the year 2000, Jawge Hughes, alongside the Oboe Lady, Miss Anna Fisher, lent their GREAT TALENTS and SUPPORT to the Higgs Family, at JOE HIGGS CELEBRATION OF LIFE MEMORIAL SERVICE that was held in KINGSTON, JAMAICA. With such a WEALTH OF HISTORY between Jawge Hughes and myself, needless to say, I feel more than honored to be reasoning with him.
