About Kate
 
Kate Cornell is a PWD, type 2 who, despite diabetes, is living the good life in northern Arizona with her husband Ray. She was diagnosed in June 2005 after a routine blood test. Since her original doctor didn’t give her any help to understand her condition, (ie: no visit with a CDE or dietician; no information, just a shove out the door with instructions to “change her diet”.), she went to the internet to find answers and eventually found the DOC. After several years of trial and error she is starting to understand how to control her diabetes. She began blogging about her life with T2 in February 2011 at Kates Sweet Sucess  and hopes to increase her advocacy in 2012 by finding a way to improve diabetes education even if it’s just in her little corner of the world. Kate has 4 wonderful grown children, 3 boys (men) and 1 girl (woman), as well as 4 rambunctious grandsons. Kate enjoys camping, reading, writing and games, as well as sarcasm.
