Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now. Have you noticed that people say so often "I'm sorry" for whatever reason? How does that make you feel when they say it to you? What would you rather hear? What would you rather have experienced before that word even came out of their mouths?

My name is Denise Thomson. I am guiding my clients to their optimal health in body, mind and finances, using my present knowlege and experiences, as well as my prior ones as a nurse, fitness trainer, educator, best selling author and BTR host. We can learn from the past, apply it in the present and plan, work or look towards a better future. Titles don't really matter, though our actions DO.

Over the last year, I've been hearing "I'm sorry" so often and thought, hmmm, how could that be expressed differently and more effectively and maybe even heartwarmingly?

Why do we say I'm sorry? 

We missed an appointment, a birthday, an invitation, a post on social media, were late, not dressed to code.

We hurt someone inadvertently with words, actions, looks, facial expressions.

How can we rephrase the I'm sorry so the people we are adressing know and feel that we mean it?

Illness: Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Death: My thoughts and prayers are with you. May you keep the wonderful memories alive in your heart.

Accident: So happy it's not worse.

Birthdays: 

Weddings:

Graduations: 

It's usually not that one event they missed that hurts us emotionally, it's that they were not there for support during the time needed, then the only 3 words were: "I am sorry".
