Last week: Habits of Motion

Thermogenesis is just a fancy word for the creation of heat in your body ("therme" is Greek for heat and "genesis" for creation).

Activity Thermogenesis Is Your Daily Energy Burn. It has to do with your Physical Activity Level and how much Energy you Expend. It is the process by which the body generates heat, or energy, as it moves. From getting up in the morning to going to bed at night, every movement you make requires energy. This demonstrates that the more we move, the more energy we create, the more we burn fat.

Thermogenesis - Exercise:

activities performed expressly for the purpose of improving fitness - in other words, exercise.

Sports, workouts, jogs, brisk walks, etc.

Thermogenesis through Everyday Movement, non-exercise activity thermogenesis, is made up of all of the movements your body makes outside of planned exercise. This way is very efficient in helping calories under check, so they cannot creep up on you.
