Anita Campbell has been an entrepreneur at heart her entire life. A lawyer by training, she has a wide range of interests, as reflected in her varied background in banking, information technology, human resources, marketing and eCommerce.

Anita transitioned from the legal world into the world of business after spending most of her legal career in-house at corporations. She describes herself as a "business person's lawyer" during that time, rather than a "lawyer's lawyer." Over the course of her career, she gravitated more and more to the business side and farther away from the legal side, spending more time with business people than with other lawyers.

Ultimately her pursuit of business brought her to the point where she had enough confidence to venture out and start her own business. After a time, she started the website SmallBizTrends.com and corresponding newsletter, which updates its readers on trends affecting the small business market. The popular site is regularly noted as a rich informational resource and in 2005 and again in 2008 it won Forbes' "Best of the Web" distinction for small business blogs.

Anita writes columns for or has contributed to numerous publications and websites around the Web on small business topics. As a business speaker, she regularly speaks at small business events. She also hosts her own radio show, "Small Business Trends Radio," which broadcasts over the Internet each week and is podcasted.

Today, in addition to being known internationally as a small business expert, Anita adds author to her already extensive resume with the release of her book, "Visual Marketing: 99 Proven Ways for Small Businesses to Market with Images and Design."
