Dr. Mei-Ling Siu-Caldera, MD, PhD Nutritionist

Dr. Caldera is a Medical Doctor who graduated from the University ofSan Carlos, Guatemala, Central America and received her Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of Connecticut, Storrs. She has done extensive research in the area of Vitamin D and cancer at Women & Infants' Hosp., Brown University School of Medicine, and has worked with numerous individuals in improving their health.
Dr. Calderacurrently teaches Nutrition at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Caldera’s experience includes evaluating the nutritional status of institutionalized and free-living elderly and working as a nutrition and health educator for various organizations in Connecticut. She has been an invited speaker in the United States, Europe and Central America. She has also published more than 20 peer-reviewed research papersand has contributed to the publication of news columns in a Hispanic newspaper in Rhode Island and a Hispanic magazine in Hartford designed to help make the public more aware about the importance of nutrition in maintaining overall health.
Dr. Calderaprovides nutrition counseling focusing on weight management, dietary and lifestyle modification and nutrition, cardiovascular health, cancer prevention, sports nutrition, aging, diabetes and other autoimmune conditions.
