The simple purpose of this podcast is to help Christian leaders understand how planning and strategizing is important to carrying out the Great Commission.

Our Strategic Christian Leadership Bible verse for this episode is Hebrews 13:17 which says, "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you."

Our Strategic Christian Leadership quote for this episode is from Peter Drucker. He said, "No institution can possibly survive if it needs geniuses or supermen to manage it. It must be organized in such a way as to be able to get along under a leadership composed of average human beings."

Our topic today is part 4 of “Chapter 3: Preparing the Boat: Developing the Strategy” from “Advanced Strategic Planning: A New Model for Church and Ministry Leaders” by Aubrey Malphurs. He continues as follows:

--- Step 3. Determine Development Deadlines

Decide when the goals must be accomplished. This means setting completion dates, which are the benchmarks for success. I have discovered that in ministry, like almost everything else, some people are doers and some are procrastinators. While I suspect that all people have a little procrastinator in them, the leaders of the teams need to be doers. Doers as well as procrastinators need deadlines, for deadlines signal not only when they have to be finished but also when they have to begin the launch or implementation phase.
