PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled "The World at War (Part 1)" from Dr. Ed Hindson's book "Revelation: Unlocking the Future."

Preview: The seven trumpets begin to sound and terrible calamities follow. These judgments are so severe that the global conflagration they ignite nearly destroys the whole planet. The whole world is at war and all life is in danger of extinction.

In a desert expanse 50 miles from Alamogordo, New Mexico, the first atomic bomb was exploded at 5:20 am, July 16, 1945. Then, less than three weeks later, President Harry Truman gave the order to drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, at 8:15 am on August 6. It leveled two-thirds of the city of 350,000 people in one of the most incredible decimations in human history.

By 1949, the Soviet Union had also developed the atomic bomb, and the Cold War was under way. Then, on November 1, 1952, the United States tested the first hydrogen bomb on a small atoll in the Pacific Ocean. The explosion was so devastating that it blew the one-mile island of Elu-ge-lab right out of the Pacific, leaving a 175-foot-deep hole in its place in the ocean floor! A frightening new era of apocalyptic proportions had dawned.

'OCCUPY TILL I COME': We are beginning a new journey through the book, "Coming Events and Present Duties," by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called "prophetical tracts" that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the second coming of Jesus Christ. This section is titled, "Watch" (Part 1) based on the parable of the foolish and wise virgins in Matthew 25:1-13.
