The purpose of the judgment seat of Christ is to reward faithful servants with job assignments for the millennial kingdom. You will serve Christ during that period in direct proportion to the way you have faithfully served Him during this time on earth. If you have been a spectator Christian in this life, you will be one in the next. Your reward earned from this life will determine what kind of opportunity you have to serve Christ during His 1,000-year kingdom on earth. In the final analysis, it is entirely up to you how you will spend those 1,000 years!

The second advent, as it is often called today, refers to that "day of the Lord" when Christ will come again to this earth in power and great glory to rule over this earth. As we have seen, most of the many biblical references to the second coming refer to the glorious appearing, when Christ will come as King of kings and Lord of lords, fulfilling the portion of Isaiah 9:6-7 that says "the government will be upon His shoulder...[and] of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end."

Our Lord will be the last world emperor, and His rule will extend into eternity. However, as we will see, His kingdom will be unlike any that ever existed before. It will be a kingdom of peace and prosperity, the curse on the earth will be lifted, and man's inhumanity to man will cease. For the first time since the Garden of Eden, man will love his neighbor as himself.
