A magnitude 7.7 earthquake hits Canada and spawns tsunami warning. According to Reuters, a powerful earthquake with a 7.7 magnitude hit Canada's Pacific coastal province of British Columbia late Saturday, setting off a small tsunami, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damages. Earthquakes Canada said the quake in the Haida Gwaii region was followed by numerous aftershocks as large as 4.6 magnitude and said a small tsunami was recorded by a deep ocean pressure sensor.

Sudan threatens to take "steps" against Israeli targets. According to The Jerusalem Post, Sudanese officials criticized Israel for its alleged strike on an arms factory within Sudanese territory, with President Omar al-Bashir calling the attack "reckless" and Minister of Information Ahmed Othman vowing "decisive steps" against Israeli interests. A huge fire broke out earlier this week at an Iranian-backed arms factory in the south of the capital which was rocked by several explosions. 

The U.S. and Great Britain are planning military options for the Middle East. According to Business Insider, Great Britain is involved in military contingency planning with the United States over Iran and other potential flashpoints in the Middle East -- but officials insisted the talks are not a prelude to a pre-emptive strike against Tehran's nuclear program.
