Churches and Christian buildings are attacked in Pakistan. According to Persecution.org, thousands of angry protestors denouncing a film deemed offensive to Muslims burned and destroyed a church and several other Christian buildings in Mardan, Pakistan. Nearly everything in the church building was destroyed, including the altar, Bibles, and other Christian literature. The church's destruction adds to fears that the Pakistani Christian minority may be the target of future attacks. Pakistan's president has condemned the assault.

Vietnam is shaken up by multiple earthquakes. According to Viet Nam News, residents in central Vietnam are greatly concerned after the latest of a series of seven earthquakes shook the area between Saturday and Sunday. The quakes were a part of a string of 17 tremblors that have shaken Quang Nam Province in the past three weeks. Thousands of residents rushed out of their houses in panic after they heard loud blasts and felt the ground shaking. Dozens of homes have been damaged.

Lao authorities intensify their campaign against Christians. According to Human Rights Watch, police in Laos have arrested three Christian pastors and have subjected them to harsh prison conditions, including handcuffs and foot stocks. The government has also questioned the pastors' wives and church members. Reports say that the pastors have been unable to see their families and that two of the pastors are seriously ill and have yet to be treated.

The Bible says in Matthew 5:10: "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
