Everything is a matter of two choices – God and mammon. The choices we make are not only a matter of priority but it is a matter of our spirituality. Mammon is the love of money, riches, power and materialism.
The mistake is making our desires the means to an end. When we do that and we substitute God for an idol. God puts before His choices, the choices are the Cross or pleasure, heaven or hell.
Once we are presented with the facts, we can no longer plead ignorance. No one can make a choice good or bad without living with its consequences. The rich young ruler went away sad after Christ presented him with choices. He chose the love of riches, more than the love God. Therefore, he could not help being sorrowful (Matthew 19:16-22).
There Can Be Only One. We must come to the place where there is absolutely nothing and no one coming between us and the Lord – we must see only Jesus. The Word must be interpreted into the practical where folk can see us living like Jesus. Join me this month as we discuss There Can Be Only One.
