My Selfie…. Hott or Naw??? You cannot log on to any social media site and not see at least one selfie.  This is what’s hot and current. Selfies are right up there with abbreviations… smh, lol, wtf and tbt and #hashtags… I must say even my mom can be caught taking a selfie… This is all well and good, but what happens if it is not a great selfie? People really take it to heart when their selfies only get liked by their family and close friends.

A teenager became so obsessed with taking the perfect selfie that he tried to kill himself when his efforts failed. Danny Bowman, 19, would spend 10 hours a day taking up to 200 photos of himself on his iPhone. The teenager dropped out of school, remained housebound for six months and lost two stone in an attempt to capture the perfect self-portrait. Danny eventually became so depressed that he took an overdose, but he was discovered by his mother Penny and rushed to hospital. He told the Mirror : “I was constantly in search of taking the perfect selfie and when I realised I couldn’t I wanted to die. I lost my friends, my education, my health and almost my life."

On the adverse… some people have gained fame and fortune taking selfies…

Jen Selter is an Instagram sensation, this 21-year-old currently boasts over 4.9 million Instagram followers and 3 million Facebook fans…. She has a message for the "haters" - her butt is not fake!

Either way there is a lot of hoopla going on about Selfies… and you know 3D always has to have its piece of the pie…
