Life will strive against death, as well as death against Life. A dead soul does not and cannot feel this; the living soul alone can be engaged in this fight.
All believers are involved in a tremendous conflict that spans the whole universe, from heaven, clear down to earth; from the heart of the spirit realms, down to the pits of our flesh.
Yet, though we often feel the wounds of these repeated skirmishes within our physical bodies, our battle is not with flesh and blood. It is with principalities and powers in the heavenly places. Satan’s power, energy, swiftness, and dark wisdom all combine to make him a most formidable foe.
The believer cannot be passive in this battle. he is commanded by God to resist the devil. Passivity is not an option. To not fight; or cease to fight is to be overcome.
Our strategy for victory is taken from Revelation 12:11: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. The saints are allied in this fight of the ages; they utilize the same mighty weapon — the blood of the Lamb.
