Dr. Misti Kill, Program Director, Fire/EMS/Emergency Management

This week, we will be discussing the growing field of emergency management.  Misti Kill, Program Director of Emergency Services Management, will discuss how she entered the field, as well as highlight the desire to professionalize it.  We will be opening it up to callers and would love to hear your personal experiences on how you entered your safety field, as well as any other notable experiences you may have that may encourage others to do the same.

Misti Kill joined CSU in 2012 and is the program director of Emergency Management Services. A graduate from North Dakota State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead, she received a bachelor’s in sociology and criminal justice in 2005 from MSUM, a master’s in sociology in 2008 from NDSU, and a doctorate in emergency management in 2011, also from NDSU. She has been in the field of emergency management for several years and has worked in all aspects of the disaster cycle. She is also a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers.
