Shirley Gutkowski talks about Bad Breath this morning. Is your yap polluted with Cadaverine? Along with methal mercaptan (moth ball smell) and hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) cadaverine is what we call a volatile sulfur compound (VSC) created as tissue breaks down, which is exactly what happens in periodontal disease.

These three VSC are regulated by the EPA but millions of people breath them in all day every day without alarm. What are these gasses doing to the lung tissue? What are they doing to the quality of life? Is halitosis harmful?
