In a society where legalized segregation has been outlawed and integration sometimes mandated by law, does "black pride" and "black power" still have a place in 2010? Can one be proud of their heritage without being ashamed or jeopardizing their "standing" as an American? Does the election of Pres. Obama signal a shift of the tides?

Dr. Lathardus Goggins, II, Ed. D., an assistant professor of educational leadership at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, joins us to discuss whether or not "black pride" is still relevant in the 2010s. We also discuss the family focus that the black community should have in determining where we as a people should be headed. And your calls! (646) 478-4308.
