0020 2010, Tues, Feb 01, Conservative Latino Talk Radio. Lauro Garza discusses the fallout from his articles on TexasGOPvote.com about the crypto-libertarian movement and how the followers of Dr. Ron Paul and Mrs. Debra Medina have been trying to convince Republicans that libertarianism is the real conservatism and try to prove that with revisionist history. Secondly, Lauro reads from Mrs. Medina's plan for protection of the southern border of Texas which describes the illegal use of the military to enforce immigration & other laws. Mrs. Medina also claimed in that plan that the NAFTA treaty is unconstitutional and she will nullify it and any other treaties she, herself, feel are unconstitutional. Thus, Mrs. Medina, using the unreasonable and ridiculous concept of "nullification and interposition" proposes to begin secession from the union by declaring federal law and federal authority unconstitutional, an authority reserved to the Supreme Court only. Lastly, Lauro points out that "nullification and interposition" has been used by a governor before in the early 1960's by Governor Wallace of Alabama who also opposed federal authority in a crisis over segregation. In his famous and iconic speech, "I have a Dream" Martin Luther King, Jr. decried the use of that concept as it restrained the rights of black citizens. Mrs. Medina's plan is effectively the same and also very wrong. She and her followers from the Ron Paul crowd are not Republicans nor Conervatives.
