WASHINGTON, May 27, 2015  –  The horrific violence and mass looting that ravished Ferguson, MO., and Baltimore, MD., did not occur in Cleveland, OH, despite Cleveland Police Officer Michael Brelo being found not guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the November 2012 shooting deaths of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams. The two were killed by a barrage of 137 shots fired by police into their car,

Local NAACP leaders were among many black leaders who vigorously disagreed with the judge’s verdict but joined city officials Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams and Mayor Frank Jackson in requesting peaceful protest.

As an apparent result of combined community and city cooperation, only 71 people were arrested during demonstrations on Saturday.

But, the calmness in the city may be the quiet before the storm, since Al Sharpton has accepted a request to appear in Cleveland this week to address the judge’s decision. Can the city, state or nation expect Ferguson or Baltimore level violence following Sharpton’s Cleveland appearance? This is the question that will be addressed on Standing at Freedom’s Gate with host Kevin Fobbs and nationally syndicated radio host Kenneth McClenton.

McClenton who hosts the Exceptional Conservative Show, formerly served as Policy Analyst for the DC Financial Authority and Ombudsman for the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
