Cotto & Co.: Talking with Leon Kolankiewicz, Californians for Population Stabili

While upper and middle class family sizes are perhaps the smallest they’ve ever been, those mired by generational poverty have children whose costs cannot be met without public assistance. Making matters worse is that many of these folks are illegal aliens. None of this even begins to factor how welfare programs are designed to offer increased benefits should an enrollee have more kids.

Forging a path through this madness can be a tall order. Californians for Population Stabilization eagerly takes on the challenge. The organization, commonly referred to as CAPS, is at the forefront of rekindling a national dialogue on population issues. This is especially difficult since, these days, both the left and right generally cringe at the mention of “overpopulation”.

Interestingly enough, denying the existence of population sustainability is one of the few, if only, things that modern-day leftists, rightists, and libertarians seem to agree on,

Leon Kolankiewicz has built a career around preserving America’s natural resources. An environmental scientist and wildlife ecologist, he brings inconvenient truths to the forefront as one of CAPS’s senior writing fellows. He also serves on the group’s advisory board, having played a decades-long role in the population stabilization movement.

Kolankiewicz shares his views about a topic which deserves far more attention on the next Cotto & Company; a new thirty-minute-or-so online radio program featuring independent voices who shape our society. Regardless of partisan registration, political philosophy, or personal worldview, the goal is sharing diverse, and often innovative, ideas that we all can learn from.
