This Sunday, August 3 at 6:30pm, join host Joseph Cotto and CDN writer and editor Allan Brownfeld as they talk about who should control the Holy Land, a debate that is as old as the land of Judae itself. It has been raging for thousands of years.

Unlike in the United States and other first world societies, however, words aren’t the weapon of choice. Disagreements are settled with blood as bullets and swords take the place of pen and paper.

Now, fighting has resumed as both Israel and Palestine declare war on the other. While the killing of civilians on both sides is technically what started this, the heart of the matter is far more complicated. Ultimately, unresolved questions over who should live where, get what, and worship whom drive the conflict.

At the same time, a terrorist group even more radical than Al-Quaeda has attained power in Iraq. Some say that America should fund its opponents. Many of these people also claim that the U.S. should support Israel against Palestine.

Few people know more about troubles plaguing the Holy Land than Allan C. Brownfeld. As a journalist, he has covered Middle Eastern affairs not for several years, but decades on end. The State of Israel was formed during his lifetime, and he has much to say about it as the American Council for Judaism’s publications editor.

Brownfeld joins us on this week’s “Cotto & Company”.  The show will be availabe in archive following its debut broadcast.
