The Neverending Fight
The Roe v. Wade decision was decided 41 years ago, setting off one of the most divisive political battles in our history. Not unlike the Civil War, there has been little agreed to on the case, other than each side must to continue argue their case.
One thing we are certain about: this issue will remain with us as long as political fundraising about the issue is so profitable.
Make no mistake, we are pro-choice. We’ve had civil and uncivil conversations about abortion, birth control and women’s reproductive freedoms. While standing firmly in our position, we are tired of the rhetoric. What would it take to have a different conversation?
Today we are joined by Anne Walker (Women's Activist), Linda Young (National Women's Political Caucus), and Karen Teegarden (UniteWomen.org). We look forward to talking about short-term and long-term strategies for 1) dealing with political realities and 2) a strategy for changing the game.
