We'll be speaking with Suzanne Ross, author of The Wicked Truth about Love. Sugar Jones will also be joining us live from Blogher to give us the up to date scoop. Suzanne Ross is a graduate of Bucknell University and a certified Montessori educator. She has extensive experience as a corporate training consultant, and is a former editor of the literary journal, StoryQuarterly. She is the former Director of Christian Education for a United Church of Christ congregation. As a member of the Colloquium on Violence & Religion, she has attended and presented at the annual conferences. In 2007, Ross co-founded the Raven Foundation with husband Keith, Based on the principles of mimetic theory, the foundation seeks to make religion reasonable, violence unthinkable and peace a possibility by challenging conventional wisdom and opening the door to new ways of thinking. Suzanne puts her theatrical flair to great creative use in this endeavour, often utilizing the language, imagery, and music of pop culture to illustrate key points about the world view. Her first book, The Wicked Truth: When Good People Do Bad Things, initiated this effort by providing the thinking person’s guide to the wildly successful Broadway musical Wicked. The upcoming book, The Wicked Truth About Love: The Tangles of Desire, explores patterns of romantic love and how to create a fulfilling relationship. The Raven Foundation (a registered 501(c)(3) Private Foundation) goal is to foster peaceful individuals and harmonious communities who will reject scapegoating and violence as ways to form identity and achieve peace. The organization seeks to inspire everyday people, those who work to make meaning out of their lives and make sense out of the conflict and violence that they witness in the world, to examine more closely the beliefs and conventions of the world they live in, and challenge and change those beliefs and conventions to achieve peace and harmony.
