It's that time again, ASK THE RAW EXPERTS, My resident expert Chef Tina Jo is joined with my other great friend, Tresa BEGRACE, aka Tresa Yung. Both are raw goddesses and bring years of rawness to the table.
Chef Tina Jo began her raw vegan journey back in 1999 when a friend suggested a vegan detox program to help alleviate debilitating ovarian and uterine cysts. Having reached a dead end with conventional western medicine and desperate to find relief, Tina Jo attended her first detoxification program through Karyn Calabrese at Karyn's in Chicago, Illinois. That was the first step to a life changing experience.
"I'd tried everything - that is, every western drug and test available to womankind. It never occurred to me it could be my diet causing such havoc in my body!"
Tresa Yung was raised on health food and alternative medicine, learning those lifestyle habits from my health practitioner parents. For a time we even owned and operated the local health food store. I now utilize that knowledge along with a multitude of experiential practices, counseling skills, and energy healing techniques. I have my Bachelors Degree is Speech Communications / Public Relations with a Journalism Minor and I studied Spiritual Psychology & Counseling at University of Santa Monica. I’ve specifically lived the “Live-Food” lifestyle since 2006 and am a certified Raw Foods Chef and Instructor, trained at “Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, CA!
Because of my “health food” upbringing, I always felt a little “different” from my peers when I was younger…and perhaps it left me feeling somewhat isolated, lonely and misunderstood; but eventually I grew to appreciate the wonderful benefits provided by eating health foods.
