I love the scriptures!!!

Jacob allows his sons to take Benjamin and go get grain from Egypt. The conversation between this father and his sons shows us that communication and emotions and realities are very similar today as they were anciently. Heartache, concern, words that could be taken as attack that are merely distress are a part of the human condition and need to be recognized as that and have tolerance so as not to take offense.

In Matthew also we see communication between two human beings as Christ speaks to the Pharisees. He lets them know that he is very familiar with the scriptures and that if they do not stop asking him questions they will look the fool and in the eyes of the people will lose their status. Do we not ask questions that we maybe need to because we are afraid to look foolish? Are there things the Lord would teach us if we were humble enough to ask and not be more concerned about not "fitting in" with the society of humans that we are presently associated? These men were the scholars of the day, so even the intellectual and well positioned among the children of men may be in err.

Some serious food for thought, is it not?
