Wow! This was some heavy stuff! The Lord is not softening his words at all here. He will stand and judge.
The word plead, though, does suggest the concern and sorrow that he feels at what he is warning his children about and yet he does not mince words.
The immodesty of the saints and "bullying" of the poor (in possessions and possibly also the poor in spirit that Christ has spoken of) are not supported or approved of in anyway by Heavenly Father.
The footnotes really proved helpful with these verses as we learned that a caul is a hairnet and got the Prophet Joseph Fielding Smith's confirmation that the Lord's unhappiness with the immodesty for both males and females was a huge component of this portion of scripture.
