I love the scriptures!!! And I Know that Jesus lives and that God loves us and is aware of our trials and our joys. 2 Nephi 5:22-6:5 Nephi prophecies of the future of his descendants. He testifies that following the commandments and remembering God in all their doings will bless them and protect them. He also testifies that if they do not do this they will be left at the mercy of those who turn from God and ultimately destroyed. Now, because God has warned his children of this same message time and again and many have failed to be blessed does that mean that we can give up the fight? NO! We can have the assistance of God the Father if we will but remember him and call on him in faith, believing that we will receive his blessings and doing all we can to keep his commandments to the best of our ability. We each choose day by day and moment by moment which path we will be on and we will be protected one step at a time. Record keeping can be a very helpful tool to our journey or time in life. It can be very therapuetic and help us to handle challenges and work out issues or plan goals that will take us where we want to go. Re-reading our journals can really help as well. We can see things there that we miss in everyday life and have the opportunity to change course if we want to. It can also remind us how far we have come when the road seems a bit trying or we feel stuck. Did you know that record keeping is a commandment? Where would we be if those of ancient time had not recorded the truths we find in the scriptures? I know that I would be quite lost and I very much enjoy and am grateful for the guidance of the scriptures in my life. Next time Isaiah...I am excited for that. God's words for the children of Israel. That is you and I, literally for most of us and we are adopted in if we are not of the blood lineage, into the household of Israel. I thank God for his blessings and wish to know and follow his will, in Jesus name, amen.
