I love the scriptures!!! Rachel bears Joseph. God heard her pleas and he will hear ours. Does he answer immediately or in our time? No. Does his giving her a son and taking away her reproach mean that those who do not bear children by no fault of their own are less in value? No. All things are that God might be glorified, not man. Jacob took care of his family temporally. He served long and honorably but he did not deny his own sustenance or that of his household. So you and I need to take care of our temporal well being even as we work to serve others. Then Christ, in Matthew speaks with his disciples. Who do men say I am and who do you say that I am? Peter says, You are the Christ...and Christ says, Blessed art thou...for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is heaven. This is the only way any of us know that Jesus is the Christ is through Heavenly Father's witness by the Holy Ghost. A sort of knowing with our spiritual hearts and minds. Key to temple work is verse 19. Talking of the power of the priesthood to seal families together into the eternities. We saw how Christ taught that man's ways and God's ways may be very different. Whereas man may wish no discomfort there may need to be just that so that the name of God might be glorified and his will be done as was so in the final weeks of the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
