I love the scriptures!!!Review: Jacob married Leah first and then he had to work another seven years for Rachel. Makes me wonder about the dynamics, the traditions, and really the mentality of this family. We all come from a place of traditions that vary according to our culture. I believe the family is the order given by God to allow us to fulfill our purpose here on earth. Yet within that organization there is unlimited variety. So we can surmise the situation of Laban's family to a certain degree but is it vital for us to understand everything about a people to be able to understand something about God and ourselves from the scriptures? I don't think so. I know that I learn new things all the time in the scriptures depending on where I am at in my life. For this I am very grateful. I even suspect that this may have been what we might call a dysfunction in the family today. Does that mean that God cannot use them to teach us? Thankfully, no. And he can use me and you in his work among the children of men as well. I am so grateful for this witness. In Matthew we walk with the Savior as he was asked by an outsider of the house of Israel to perform a healing and we hear his response that he was sent to serve a certain people. Perhaps she, through her faith, taught him that God wants all his children nurtured. And yes, I do believe that Christ himself was taught line upon line like the scriptures teach and as you and I learn from the scriptures as Christ did, I believe that he learned from people just like we do. Go, thy faith has made it possible for the healing to happen. I don't want to infer to what extent Christ may have been taught here but I do believe it may have been a learning experience for him. I believe that that Christ is the literal son of God and that he had mortal experiences as well, not so much unlike you and I. I am grateful for that witness. Thru him I live. U2
