I love the Scriptures!!!! Moses 4:15 Review: When you come to the word of God with respect and real affection and desire for guidance you cannot helped but be touched by the Spirit with a witness of the love of God. I am not sure that we understand or are receptive to it right away, in fact it may take years of consistent return to the word of God before that witness is solid underneath the sensory pulls of daily living and its challenges. It is something worth developing and understanding though. And you can know for sure that the adversary will do his best to pursuade you just the opposite, that God is not aware of you nor does he care. Here is where the choice of each man, woman, and child is. To choose to believe that you are loved and that you are valuable and important to the living God. In 1 Nephi we read of Nephi breaking his bow. Do you suppose he saw that at the time as evidence of his Heavenly Father's love? I do not know. Yet today we can look at it and see how that experience would help him find the witness inside that he is led by the hand of God. We too, will face trials and many will seem to be very unfair, but those very trials are what we need to develop the spiritual and psychological muscles that will give us strength and substance in the life to come. In D&C the Lord's words telling us that the word of God is like a two-edged sword shows us how mindful God is of us and our day to day lives. The metaphors that are given to mankind in each generation are testimony of that. And metaphors are there in abundance if we understand them in the scriptures. An example being the lighting of the stars in the heavens to account for days, years and seasons in Moses 4:14-15. Again a witness God looks after our temporal being and is mindful of us in our day to day lives. The metaphor here is, as in all things, of the Son of God. That he gives direction, meaning, and guidance in our day to day lives. May the Holy Ghost be with you. IJN Amen
