1Nephi20:9(see Isaiah 48) Jesus quoted Isaiah and told us to study it. He teaches that we will have problems (afflictions) and as we turn to God he refines us. This comforts me and helps me to yield to what life presents at this time. I can trust that he will use all to edify, teach, lift, and make me into what he wants me to become. Christ had mists of darkness and confusing philosophies of men and temptations placed before him continually, yet he chose to look to Father in all things. He choose to seek Father's will in his heart. He was faithful and we do not see him apologizing for his witness. I must admit that I see myself do this at times. Somebody does not like the way I say or teach the gospel. “You are judging” they say yet I know that I have no desire to judge anyone; I only wish to testify of God's ways, there is a difference. We are shown how important it is to listen to the prophets and I would go a step further than just saying these are the General Authorities of the church. I would suggest that we want to listen carefully to anyone that we know of that lives the principles of the gospel. Those who study the gospel and practice the teachings of Christ for their words we can trust though we still need to pray about them and ponder if they fit for us or not. In the world we have this thing called peer pressure. Peer pressure cannot direct us to peace and hope; it directs us to bondage, even righteous peers, because we are doing what we do to please our peers. To have the peace from God we want to do all that we do in the name of Jesus Christ and to God’s glory. This will bring us the peace spoken of in verses 18-22. He promises that we will not be thirsty if we obey the commandments. We will have guidance and peace. I wish to embrace and partake of this blessing. I pray that you will join me because in this is life, true life, and life more abundant. I leave this with you in Jesus name, amen.
