The scriptures can bring joy and hope like nothing else. They are steady and faithful not swaying with the tide of opinion like that latest news flash. Join me as we discuss the letters from our Heavenly Father that show us his mind and will for us today. Review: The great and abominable church is discussed and we are told how to recognize it by the things it craves which are gold, silks, and harlots. Possessions and feeding ones own desires and lusts with no regard for how one uses others. Is this still alive today, of course, and not just in countries where terrorism and mayhem are obvious. We read of Columbus and how he was to have the Spirit poured out on him to come to the land that Nephi's family had been sent to because in turning away from God they had brought his wrath upon them. Do we, as a nation in the United States, not stand in that same position? Ripe for the wrath of God as we turn to our own lusts and diversions rather than seeing that the government that we have is a responsible and virtuous one? The scriptures make it very clear that when we remember and seek God we will be blessed and when we do not we will fall, period. This has happened repeatedly and continues today. We may not be able to stop what is going to happen to the world as a whole but we can choose this day who we serve and put ourselves on the Lord's side. It is up to each of us individually. God will not force us. It begins with me....In Moses we read and discussed how we know that the Garden of Eden was on this very earth. We talked about how I believe, because of these readings, that I knew the events of my life and I knew the challenges I might face and that a way has been prepared for me to accomplish what I was sent here to do, if I will be faithful. I believe this applies to all of us. He knows, he is aware, and has made a way for us to do our work here in a way pleasing to him. This is my testimony. God's blessings to you and yours, Christa-Ann.
